This http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/politics/scotland/8022517/Estate-owners-face-criminal-charges-over-bird-of-prey-poisonings.html is just what the doctor ordered. If it becomes law it will represent a huge step forward in the uphill struggle to conserve some of the UK's rarest birds of prey.
So - watch it get voted down by "interests"......
It might, however, be worth an email to Roseanna.Cunningham.msp@scottish.parliament.uk voicing support for the measure.

Every day a little more irate about bird of prey persecution, and I have a cat - Got a problem with that?
Wow John
I reckon that's going to ruffle a few human feathers!!!!
Great news, but heartbreaking if it gets voted down by the "interests" you speak about -a powerful lobby I imagine.
Thanks for letting us know.

John B Great news. I hope it does become law.
Pipit The e-mail is a really good idea.

Hi JBNTS
I hope it gets voted in.
"But she faces strong opposition from horrified land owners, who have argued they cannot be made criminally responsible for the actions of their employees of which they may be unaware" Yeah right, like they don't know.
Best wishes Chris

Yes John, good news indeed - we have an unsolved golden eagle poisoning on an estate close to where we live.

I agree 100% good thing you started this thread, several of us on another site sent R C a e-mail short while ago when a poisoning occurred.
Would be nice to see this go though but I doubt it will. There are a couple of estates around here that are well-known for targetting birds of prey but nothing has been done about it and I can't see that changing.
