Thanks, Craig and Jef, for advice. I think the feathers idea sounds great and won't spoil the windows or view as oil, imitation snowflakes, or clingfilm might. As we have lots of feathers dropped from pheasants, crows etc. we'll run strings of these across the tops of the windows. Thanks fro such prompt response.

Must have missed that post the feather idea sounds great and very decorative, must try that. All the pheasants will run a mile if they think I'm after their feathers.
