Protecting our birds from collisons with our windows (Part 2)

hi there

I know that this subject has been raised before, so this is not new ground.

Since the debate I have found my silouettes of the BoP's which I have never got around to pinning on my windows.  Are these seen as the fashion now or not now - are they any use at all?

I bought these a long time ago and never used them because we do not want to leave marked windows in our rentals.

Anyone else used these before?

Regards

Kathy and Dave

  • Hi O H who is more creative did a really good job of cutting shape of B O P from a sheet of paper and put on window either with blue tack or sellotape and worked a treat and left no stain on window.

  • Hi Kathy,

I bought the stickers years so, mine are more or less the same as yours but the image on one side has colour and detail of the bird.  Since putting the stickers up, I haven't had any collisions although before them I used to get an awful lot of birds flying into the windows.  We have quite a big conservatory plus our patio windows in the lounge so the the back of the house is more or less one big mirror which caused so many accidents.  They really do the job plus I also put alot of other things on the shelves like plants and ornaments to help break up the reflection if that makes sense.

When I first put the stickers up, I thought Euwe I don't like them, they spoiled the view to the garden.  However, I've persevered and now I really don't notice them at all.

    Hi Sooty

Good idea with the make your own silouettes.

It costs less and it makes a difference to the lives of your birds in the same way

I think we will see hoe our windows are and we will take action according to the situation

    Hi Kezmo

Thank you for your answer.  So it looks like some of us still hold on to thses stickers.

The ones I have are like transfers - have one sticky side and the name of the BoP included along beside the picture - do not know the reason why as it will not help the birds at all as they cannot read.

It is good that you have been accustomed to how they are on your windows

Makes it tempting to use them now as they are
