Yet BoPs suffer once more ......

Hi there

I have just read these two links today about more BoP killings - it is depressing that people seem to think it is alright to hurt animals of any type or species

Words just fail me at this moment in time

  • Totally appauled by this Kathy and I have to disagree with Seymoreraves that crimes against wildlife are not as bad as less violent crimes against the person. At least people have a chance of self defence a poor trusting animal does not and personally I would birch them. There I have said it, and that applies to any cruel act.

Of all creatures, man is the most detestable, he is the only creature that inflicts pain for sport, knowing it to be pain.

  • Hi Kathy,

I am disgusted with what our fellow humans can do. Totally. I know what I would like to do to them.

    Cheers, Linda.

  • I heard about the Goshawk recently and read about the Golden Eagle earlier (both when I've been offline hence no comment here).

Its just a shocking state of affairs it really is, I just don't know what to say or how to put into words how these acts from a senseless minority act.

  • As I said the other day when I mentioned the Golden Eagle being killed, I don't feel I can add anymore than I have previously said on this subject. Nothing will change untill the law is strengthened and truly enforced.

  • It is simply terrible that such old world perceptions still exist in this day and age. Why do birds of prey get such a bad name? because they predate? is that un-natural? I suppose once they predate everything to extinction we will be left with nothing but flocks of birds of prey that survive on nothing but fresh air!? It is so frustrating that anything that causes conflict with people gets the blame for so much which is caused by human hands in the first place.

Well, last month saw the RSPB's Bird of Prey campaign petition hand in. About 70 supporters of the RSPB came together last month to create a giant peregrine falcon outside parliament. We presented the petition signed by more than 200,000 people to wildlife minister Huw Irranca Davis, calling for an end to the illegal killing of birds of prey. In 2008, the RSPB received more than 200 reports of such birds in the UK being shot, poisoned and trapped. The petition was the largest ever collected by the charity so lets hope it may help to add strength to concerns that illegal persecution continues and helps to push for strengthening of the law. Thanks again to all that added their name

Well done RSPB. No one person  is as effective as all of us together. Lets hope they listen.

Here, here, well said ... Lloyd and Birdwatcher

It certainly does need a lot of likeminded dedicated people to sort this whole issue out and the more the merrier.

We need to up the 'anti' about killing BoP's for once and for all
