2021 season update

Due to the prevailing inclement weather conditions, we have had to delay the re-opening of the camera feed until the beginning of March. The abnormal levels of rainfall experienced over the last few months has unfortunately restricted our access to the tower and thus delayed normal annual maintenance works such as providing new bedding material. Sadly, we also hear stories that food resources for owls, such as voles and mice, are also been depleted as a result of the prevailing weather conditions and, if correct, this will not bode well for the season.

Wendy, Interesting article--thanks. I suppose that the gradual depletion of vitamin E must also happen to our human food when frozen, so if offered, I will not be enjoying any frozen Mammoth steak any time soon!
Sandra and Wendy, Feeling just about normal today, although still a bit cold. Cold outside and it has been snowing very lightly all day here, but it is mainly tiny flakes and almost nothing has accumulated on the ground.

Yes, Kate, I did see your post but read it wrong and as you had replied to a post from Sandra, I saw her name and leapt to the wrong conclusion that it was your post--sorry to both you and Sandra! I did notice that you had the chills, too. The very nice young woman who gave me my jab read out a very long list of possible side effects and while I did not take them all in (I just wanted to get out of that hall which had sooooo many people in it as quickly as possible!), she did mention chills. She also mentioned that a raised temperature is not one of the side effects and if you experience that you need to get a virus test asap!
