Vane Farm and St Andrews 14/02/10

Hello all, The sun may have come out to play but believe me it was cold. To keep warm I played at trying to get as many in flight shots as I could. here are one or two of the better ones! I still feel cold writing this and days have passed. I think reports of Spring may be premature!

I went in search of a Smew (male) they are there, I see them, but they seem camera shy!

Pair of Goosander

Fulmar

Bar-tailed Godwit

Goldeneye Male above and female below

Sanderling.

I also came across a flock of about 100 Fieldfare who made for the trees on seeing me 'there is just no trust in the world anymore'!

Its not like I'm a Banker.

John :-)

For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.

  • Thanks all, it is great fun chasing the flight shots, so many missed just adds to the joy of a hit. Kezmo, I am anywhere from 20 to 100 yards, lots of cropping involved.

Wonderful shots John. Spring is always 2 months later in the frozen North. We had some snow today.

Well that will be around June then at this rate. :-) The birds are starting to change, colours are getting deeper ready for display. So there is hope yet.
