Out and about this week, I called in at one of my regular haunts to have another go at taking some photo's of the Long-tailed Tits.
Whilst standing very still waiting for their arrival, I saw a movement out of the corner of my eye.
At first I thought it was a mouse moving in amongst a log pile, I then saw it was a little Wren (Troglodytes Troglodytes).
It has to be one of the hardest things to photograph, so small and so fast. Not staying still for more than a second. Trying to keep it in view without the camera was hard enough, never mind trying to find through the lense.
I didn't have my camera settings set correctly to take photo's of a fast, small moving bird. But I did get some shots which I thought I would share with you.
Regards Buzzard
Nature Is Amazing - Let Us Keep It That Way
They're lovely photos, Buzzard. You did well to even see him let alone capture him. What a special little character he is. Thanks for sharing these. We have been chatting about how wrens are so difficult to see in the garden on the forum just today. I especially like the last photo - is it the same photo as the second one?
Cheers, Linda.

Hi Buzzard, Well done for getting photos of that elusive little creature. They're lovely pictures and I like the last one and also the one where it's hiding behind some bits of vegetation - you can even see that characteristic little upturned tail in that one. Wrens are so difficult to photograph - I nearly got one last weekend. I ended up with a nice shot of an empty bush and another of a little brown blur! lol!
If you fancy an even greater challenge try photgraphing the Australian superb fairy wren. It's even smaller than our wren and I swear it moves twice as fast!!!

Hey farmer, farmer, put away the D.D.T now. Give me spots on my apples, but leave me the birds and the bees, please!
Thanks Buzzard, lovely photo's of a beautiful little character.
Hi Buzzard
Super pictures, Buzzard
What a little cutie and that pert little tail just speaks volumes
We have one that likes to hide in the bush close to our back patio door.
They are fast little cuties for a photograph or two.

WOW! Great photos Buzzard - well spotted!!!
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
Lovely pics Buzzard! One of my favourite birds!! Such delightful little things and so flippin' hard to photograph! Lol!

Hi Redwing,
yes I do use zoom lenses, I treat myself to a new camera at christmas and purchased another lens for it in January.
Thanks for all the comments.

Hi SB,
this was hard enough, but I would jump at the chance of going to Australia!
