I went up to Marton Mere, near Backpool to try and find the Long Eared Owls that reportedly roost there, after a little searching found a couple, and one was nicely placed to get a near unobscured photo, I have more on my blogsite - http://walksnwildlife.blogspot.com/ but well worth a visit with lots on show as well as the owls.
Gary.

Just looked at your site Gary. Your photographs are excellent and full of action. I really enjoyed viewing them.
So glad you saw your Long Eared Owls. Lovely picture. I have never seen shell duck being so aggressive.
Hi Puffin,
I had a look at your photos. They are excellent, especially the action shots. What a brilliant day you had. I love the owl. I could take him home. Thanks for sharing your day.
One question - what is wrong with Blackpool?????? Be careful what you say ... I was born and bred there, and although I have been away over 35 years, I still get very defensive!!!!!
Cheers, Linda.

Brilliant stuff Puffin, very jealous up here! Owls are the best.
For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.
Hi Puffin.Just had look at your photos. Absolutely brilliant shots.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Hi puffin...
i have some long-earred owls pics in my flickr pages if you would care to take alook, althought they arent wild .i took the pics at a bird of prey centre in mid wales....
would love to snap some in the wild ... nice pics as well
dont just look enjoy and leave for others to share after you. we dont own the earth we just rent a small part of it....
Hi Gary, what a lovely photo. I love owls but haven't seen any in the wild so far, although I hear a tawny calling occasionally - usually around 10 p.m. being when its too dark to get a photo anyway!
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
Hi Gary,
I've just spent the last hour looking at your blog - your photos are excellent! I'm going to bookmark it so I can come back to it . Keep up the good work :o)

Hi Sparrow
Many thanks for the kind comments, and i do apologise for my not so kind remarks about Blackpool, I have now changed the offending text, and although not my favourite place I fully understand many people do like it, apologies again as I hadnt meant to offend.
regards
Gary
Oh dear!!! You didn't offend me in the slightest. It was my lousy attempt at a joke!! Please feel free to put your original text back ... Blackpool isn't everyone's cup of tea, and sadly it isn't mine either these days, but it does have Marton Mere!!! (and a rather good chippy up from Gynn Square!)
Best wishes,
Linda
