Like waxwing, this year has been really quiet on the brambling front, they are irruptive rather than migratory so require population booms and lack of food in NE Europe to trigger the large winter movements. I've not seen a single one this winter? Over a hundred would surely be worth mentioning to regional recorders so it's logged for the ongoing bird atlas
The full list of regional county bird recorders can be found here:
http://www.bto.org/birdtrack/bird_recording/county_bird_recorder.htm hope this is of interest to you both!
the info came via RBA so it will reach the appropriate recorder :)
