Hi There
Dave and I went for a walk around about our favourite patch today, and where lucky to see a group of Redwing on the move. We managed to get three pictures, but 'sadly' not a complete profile of the bird in question. Redwings are a bit camera shy came to mind.

We walked along the public path at the back of Tesco, and where amazed how many House Sparrows where in the Hedgerow to the left of the public footpath (Barkers Lane to Tesco) I have never seen so many in one place before. They moved about churruping as they do. The environment seems to suit them very well.
Along with the dozens of House Sparrow, there where dozens of Starlings. At one stage a mass of Starlings appeared together in one large black cloud with a wooshign noise, and they went around in a min-formation before disappearing over the nearby house roofs. i must have counted 50-60 of them flying above our heads.
Lots of blackbirds making their presence known and they seemed to like to sit close to where berries where abundant.
A few collared doves sat in the boughs of nearby bushes. There where a large community of woodpigeons also rustling about in the bushes.
Birds are well established here. Despite of their familar species, they are still a joy to see and watch. Just brings a smile to my face anyday.
Not the best day for pictures as it was a little on the dull side. Pictures would show up as dark silouettes and that is not what we wanted to happen.
Regards
Kathy and Dave
Sounds like you had a nice walk today :o)
I know what you mean about it being a joy to watch the familiar faces, I feel the same when I'm the walkway.
The chattering of Sparrows is great too, I love it!
