Finally today was dry & sunny enough at lunchtime to go for a walkabout around the outside of the business park where I work (could have done with wellies though as there was lots of water about as it's very mossy round there!!!)
The buzzard was also enjoying the sunshine:
Lots of fieldfares in the surrounding fields
Th slightest noise or movement and they were off! I stood still half in a small tree for about 15 mins watching them and got very cold!! But it was worth it! :-) They came fairly close at times!
And a blue tit looking for insects in an old stump.

Hi MarJus
Your buzzard is a beauty to see.
Love your pictures of your Fieldfares. They really omit a strange clakky noise and that makes they distinctive to see. What other members of the Thrush family where along beside them? Where there amy Redwings or any other members of the Thrush family?
Cutie Blue Tit picture . I love the way they are always on the go for insects around the window frames at home
Great pictures and thank you for sharing

Lovely pics - especially like the buzzard (so difficult to get a good clear shot with a moving target against the sky!)

Marjus ,love the buzzard action photograph and lucky you seeing all the fieldfare. We only saw our first local redwing yesterday and no fieldfare have appeared yet.
All I ever keep saying to you is "Lovely photos/shots" but they really are! What a lovely place to spend a lunchtime in. The buzzard shot even more so but then again I've never seen fieldfares. That's because I never really looked for them before I came on this forum. I haven't been over the backwaters for a while which is via fields so perhaps I need to and will then get lucky.
I spend most of my 30 minutes lunch at a supermaket getting errands for work (weird I know but It's my choice) and see only seagulls or crows circling the rubbish bins! Just to see a buzzard would be great let alone whilst munching my sandwhich in the car parked in the supermarket car park!

Nice one MarJus, Some good views of Fieldfares there, in good light too. The word is, we getting sun here tomorrow, Yeh!!
For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.
Hi MarJus,
Lovely photos as ususal and what a lovely way to spend your lunch hour. Great to see fieldfares close enough for photos even if you did get a bit chilly! I've only seen them in a distant tree so far this year. Nice birds but very noisy!
There is something new to learn everyday...

Great pics from you, as ever, MarJus- especially liked the buzzard, a wonderful shot of his lovely markings. Once saw a fieldfare on our garden fence & didn't know what it was at the time, so got the children interested by getting out all the wildlife books to identify it. Have seen the odd one or two since, but never a whole field full of fieldfares!!
Brilliant photos again MarJus - what a wonderful selection to see, and all in your lunch break!
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
Thanks everyone! I'm lucky to work where I do as it is a very rural location, which means: no shops to tempt me to spend money - no opportunity to buy more food to eat - but best of all, lots of wildlife on my doorstep withing a minute's walk!! :-D
Blackbird - there were just two or three blackbirds with them but no redwings (which surprised me) and no other thrushes.
Hi MarJus.
Those are fantastic pictures. I love the shot of the buzzard.
