Want to go birdwatching near Peterborough this sunday for photography and mainly like birds of prey and owls. Where should we go? Have no clue in this area as am from Lincolnshire and Norfolk.
Ouse washes any good? Lakenheath fen? Nene washes? Any others worth considering more?
Please help :)
I have heard the Nene Washes are a good place to go but not been there myself

Hi-
Try Nene washes at Eldernell from about 1430. Try east of the carpark.

hello
went to Nene Washes at Eldernell and being honest it was not very good. the venue itself is poor, no facilities, nothing but a bank to walk along and everything is just so far from where you walk. good for dog walking and that's it.
went to Ferry meadows, Peterborough this weekend too and that place is awesome!!!! got a bit of everything and for everyone. Saw loads, great place for anybody. Loved it so much!
Cheers for help though.
P.s. RSPB Strumpshaw in Norfolk is still the best RSP Reserve i've ever visited by a country mile!!!
walked Eldernell today - East from the CP past the trig point to Poplar farm pool. The rain lately has left some good open flooded areas. Good numbers of duck including Garganey, 4 Common Cranes,30 Little Egret, 4 Spoonbill, Marsh Harrier, a Bittern flying West, several Dunlin and Ringed Plover and finally a Red -necked Phalarope.
