Today 15/10/09 was my first visit. It is a very nice site well kept all the paths and walkways maintained. Three good hides. Again because of the recent good weather no Whooper Swans YET! I am assured by the very helpful staff there that they do have large numbers each winter. So I will return soon.
One or two of todays sightings. I should of said this on each RSPB site thread I've started but please all photos from this site by other people are welcome, as on all other.
Goosander
Mute swans
Wren
Mallard (f)
Buzzard
Widgeon
Teal
LOng-tailed Tit

For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.
Hi John
Beautfiul photos - each one is superb!. Can you help me out, as I'm not very good at what species they are, what have you got here - I can see the wren, swans, longtailed tit but is that a red kite and what are the ducks?
Regards
Kerry

Wonderful photos there John. Thanks for sharing them.
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!

Sorry I missed that, Oops, I've put them in now. Thanks Kezmo :-)
Thanks once again John. You have captured the movement of the water, the reflection and my favourite, the long tailed tit enveloped by the autumn leaves and berries.
Great assortment there John! I visited this reserve in May, but it was a very wet dismal day with gales!!! Still had an enjoyable few hours there though! The black headed gulls were nesting on the floating island and making a right racket!! The best sighting though was of a black tern! A first for me! :-)
Look forward to more pics from you from there!! :-D

I think the weather may see me at Vane Farm first light. Hope the whoopers are there for you and many more!
Hopefully I'll be getting to Kinnordy during the week, and I'll be around for a feed the birds day event on Sunday 25th too!
