This little chap provided the entertainment in and around the lodge during our recent trip. At one point he made a dash around the inside of our lodge, too quick for camera.
It was nice to see centre parks Penrith getting round to putting a Bird Hide on there site. I've been a few times now and for me its a great addition. I think the local wild life are pleased too!
I was the only person in the Hide at sun up each day! (mixed emotions) The word in wild life terms has got around very well. Many more sightings and I hope you enjoy these, I did.

For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.
Wonderful John - I just knew you wouldn't disappoint me on the photo-front and you haven't. That is a glorious selection. You might not have seen so much if there had been more humans around.

The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
Hi John
Wow! absolutely fantastic photos - I love the jay and especially the woodpecker shot.....for so many reasons!!! Is that a vole you've managed to get too?

John, once again thank you. These are lovey natural pictures. I usually leave my husband to the photography as he is very good but maybe it is time I used the camera he bought for me.
Hello John.
Fabulous photos! I especially like the squirrel and the jay but they are all good. I'm not at my best in the morning but this just shows that it is worth getting up a bit earlier occasionally. Maybe tomorrow...
There is something new to learn everyday...

Superb set John!! Love them all! The vole is great! They are so quick!! I love early rises as it's often the best time to see the wildlife!
