Hi there, I’m a keen amateur photographer and love birds, is there a location at Cannock chase where I may see many types of birds, I only ever seems to see pigeons, magpie, sparrows and the odd blue tit.
many thanks
Cannock Chase is not a place I've been to for many years, so I'm not able to help much, though hopefully someone reading this will be able to.
I've had a quick look on the web, and didn't find anything specific.
Cannock Chase is quite a large area which was originally managed by the Forestry Commission, now Forestry England. It might be an idea to browse their website, and if there's nothing obvious, contact them.
The link I found is: https://www.forestryengland.uk/cannock-chase-forest
There is also the Save Cannock Chase Facebook group who could be a good source of information, along with Chase Water Wildlife, not too far away.

There are two RSPB reserves near to Cannock Chase, Consal Woods and Coombes Valley.

I hope that helps a little if not a lot.

You're welcome.
If you do come across any interesting locations, please share them, there could well be others with a similar dilemma, and for me, Cannock Chase is only an hours drive away tops, assuming the M6 behaves itself, so somewhere for my ever expanding list of places to visit.
