Good wildlife spots in far north west Scotland?

I'm going to Scotland for a week in July, staying around Kinlochbervie (not far from Sandwood Bay). I've been to Scotland a lot but never this far north so I don't really know where to look for things. There aren't really any wildlife reserves nearby, so it's a bit harder to find out what the best spots are for watching wildlife (particularly birds). We're going to quite a few beaches along the coast so will obviously look out for sea birds and eagles, but does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks

  • Goldcrest, it may be worth looking on the Scottish Ornithological Society web pages, a lot of information on there. We have spent time northwards from Ullapool stopping off and sea watching and also Eastwards into the hills but hard to name just one spot without working over the old maps
