After a really grotty morning it was a relief to pop to Abberton and find that it was actually dry for a while! Some of my favourites were about, and being obliging:
I don't usually think of herons as fluffy, but this one certainly is.
A starling enjoys a refreshing bath!
An unusually fearless crow didn't flee from the camera - that made a change.
It was a lovely surprise to see this grey wagtail.
Great crested grebes are so beautiful.

The sound of thunderous wings drew my attention to these mute swans.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
