Not a Boomtown Rat ............

.......... a brown rat.  This one was doing its thing on the island in the wilderness pond at Christchurch Park in Ipswich today.  Here it is:

It can't half climb:

Those leaves look more interesting to it than to me!

I hope you all enjoy seeing something a little different from me.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Nice to see photos of all wildlife including ratty and the pics are lovely; it was certainly taking a keen interest in the dried leaves. Perhaps it wants new carpeting for its nest !

  • Talking of rats, check this one out.  It's being awarded a medal for landmine detection!

Lol Clare,  I saw the clever giant African pouched rat on TV news, what a unique task it has in the help to detect those dreadful devices.    It was also relief to know that not one of them has come to any harm.   Don't think they can afford to put on any weight though  !!

  • Great shots of Ratty. Did Ratty nibble your shoes, Clare, or were the pics taken with a long lens?!

    Kind regards, Ann

  • Ratty was on the wrong side of the water to get to my shoes ....... saying that, none of the park rats have remotely tried to nibble anything of mine. They generally run away!
