Just when a moulting gull thought it could rest ...........

......... along comes a hungry offspring!

Here comes trouble:

There's just no stopping it:

Yugh!  What had it been eating?

You'd think that would be the end of it, wouldn't you?

Nope.

Eventually, the harried parent gets a break!

Enjoy!

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • lol Clare, great set of photos, the adult does have a priceless expression of looking frazzled lol Reminds me of the young Jackdaws that used to chase the adults around begging all the time to be fed - oh I miss our garden but have all the memories to keep.

  • LOL Clare, no I definitely don't miss the squirrels ! wouldn't have minded a couple but at one stage we had 23 and it was total destruction; they seemed to eat all the white flowers for some reason and wreck everything they could get their paws or teeth on lol Only seen one in the garden here ............so far ! but plenty of bunnies which I don't mind.
