Hi, other half and I are having a short break (Sun-Wed) in Poole, Dorset next week. We are staying at Holes Bay and plan to visit Brownsea Island and the Arne Reserve. Anyone give me any tips of other good birding areas that are less known and hopefully nice and quiet? Weather forecast is not looking too good at the moment (just my luck!)
Many thanks,Jayne

Lovely. If you're visiting Purbeck, I would recommend Durlston Country Park. It is at its best in summer (for butterflies, and seabirds on the cliffs) but it has wonderful views and there could well be some interesting migrant passerines around and seabirds on the move.
