just back from a couple of days in Galloway visiting rellies. What weather, fantastic, Lots and lots of birds and few goodies. Yesterday we had kingfishers mating at Cumstoun Bridge, Kirkcudbright. and an Osprey on the nest at Threave Castle our first house martins of the year and possible first swallow but in car and couldn't be sure.
Today we were out on the hill above loch dungeon and definitely had several swallows, Woodpeckers,Bullfinch and our first Willow Warbler of the season on the way through. Up on the hill we had three red grouse, heard more several Ravens and Buzzards. Loads of Mippits and Wheaters. OH has photos but not of Kingfishers, he wasn't quick enough for that. Hope this weather lasts !!

Hi Soosin
Sounds like you had an excellent few days. Oooh Kingfishers and Osprey, how wonderful.
It makes such a difference doesn't it when the weather is good. Long may it continue.
