Hi all,
Just thought I would share with you our (Me & Becca1605) day of birding a RSPB Rye Meads! It was our first time to Rye Meads and it didn't disappoint! We arrived at 11.30am and made our way to the visitors centre where we were made welcome and given a map of the reserve. We then continued along the trails and to the hides which there are 10 in total to start our watching.
In total we saw 30 species which the stars for us were the Lapwings, Little Ringed Plover and Cormorant. Some of the others were Shovelers, Shelducks, Goldeneyes, a Little Egret and a female Sparrowhawk. The main attraction there are the Kingfishers which unfortunetly we didn't manage to see!
We eventually managed to tear ourselves away at 3.45pm and made our way home. All in all, a great relaxing day of birding and will certainly be going back soon!
Regards
Daniel
Thanks for showing your photographs Daniel. I can see why you would want to return.
