Where to watch garden birds

Can anyone recommend a B&B or a hotel anywhere that has a good variety of birds that visit their garden?
  • Hi Phil,   I guess it depends pretty much on where you live and how far you want to travel to a hotel or B & B that has a large area that attracts birds/wildlife.

If its any help to you I recently booked THIS HOTEL when it was on a special rate of £99 pn for B & B and dinner  !!   very good value by the looks of it although I have not been yet as we are booked in towards end of next month.    This hotel has 27 acres with the River Irfon running through it,  its own Otter hide, 50 bird boxes,  and birds such as Dippers and Kingfishers, etc.,      It just sounded wonderful but I can't tell you how good (or not ! ) it is until April   !!!      Take a look here on their Birdwatching tab

  • Thanks for your reply Hazel I have checked it out and it does look promising, I will have to go and take a look

The distance that I am willing to travel is almost anywhere in the uk as I have plenty of free time and as I live in the West Midlands nowhere is really too far.

    Once again Thanks

  • You're most welcome Phil, I had been looking for mini breaks around UK that offer good bird/wildlife watching opportunities and this seemed to fit the bill (pardon the pun ! ) but will have a better idea once we've been and explored the hotel and general area.   Another good place is the North Norfolk coast which we plan to visit at some stage although we used to live south of there in Lowestoft.    Cley and surrounding areas of N.Norfolk is wondereful for birding (so I am told) :) with some very nice nature reserves, marshland areas and coastline.  Good luck and happy holiday and bird/wildlife watching :)
