Yesterday I had a trip across the Yorkshire Moors, to survey the upland and moorland birds.
I also had another agenda, I was on the lookout for Wheatears! a bird that I have only seen on a few occassions.
Having updated my camera, I was hoping that Lady Luck would be with me.
I'm sure you all know, been in the right place at the right time is more good luck than anything else!
It is also difficult to keep an eye out for your quarry, when driving along narrow moorland roads with very steep ravines. So I think I did pretty well spotting them!
Lady Luck was with me!
The birds were some distance away, so I'm classing these as record shots!
Hope you enjoy them!
Cropped several times, to bring the bird closer.
Uncropped. To give an idea of distance and limits of lens which was fully zoomed in!
Also gives you an idea of how difficult they are to see whilst driving, shots were taken from my car as I didn't want to spook them.
Hopefully I will pay another visit to the area in the coming months and Lady Luck may allow for some closer shots!

Nature Is Amazing - Let Us Keep It That Way
Great photos Buzzard - well done. I do hope you get to see them again as you certainly deserve to after spotting those!!
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
Great to see them back!! Nice pics Buzzard and Seymour! I like the origin' of their name best!!! :-D :-D :-D Look here if you don't know it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheatear
