A couple of places which I've enjoyed going to lately are to see the nesting Grey Herons at Verulamium Park in St. Albans http://www.rspb.org.uk/datewithnature/sites/stalbans/index.asp and also there's a lovely walk along the banks on the River Rib in Standon where we've seen a couple of Kingfishers and a Buzzard. Hopefully I'll get some pics next time I go!
