The old Google helps us find all sorts of info Ian,makes me wonder how did we cope pre Google.You are right about local groups usually at least one in an area like Edinburgh.

I checked on the Near You pages links near the bottom of the RSPB Homepage and I've checked and there is an RSPB Local Group in Edinburgh and who to contact if that member of this forum is interested in joining the Edinburgh RSPB Local Members Group and it also has an updated list of activities of indoor meetings and field trips to good bird watching areas not nescisarilly to RSPB Reserves, but a very good mix of different types of Birdwatching areas.

Pentlands looks a lot better than I thought! Also, there is a group that meets every second sunday just around the corner from my house! How handy is that? Cheers for all the info guys :)
