Not sure the bad weather will affect them just yet, I suspect they're still out at sea at present.
Early June's when I'd recommend going to see them - you'll get them flying in with sand eels, arctic terns defending their chicks and so on - all in all an amazing place to visit

Great pics of such a fascinating little bird (thanks WJ & J)... Reminds me that it will soon be time to log on to live cam from Sumburgh Head & really hope for successful outcome this year, has been tragic for the previous two!

I think they were quite late last year due to the high winds stopping them feeding,I know many died because they could not feed.
And, of course, there was that tragic wreck in which many seabirds perished! Also there seems to be a constant shortage of sandeels due to over fishing .. These poor creatures certainly seem to have the odds stacked against them S!
