As a firefighter we work odd shifts, we have 10hrs to kill between our night shifts for instance. Last week myself and another guy on my watch, a fellow birder, took a run out to Church Wood near Gerrards Cross.....really glad we did as well.
Really nice walk through the woods and treated to Red Kites, a Buzzard, long tailed Tits, bullfinch and even a parakeet.
Roadside parking in the village and a lovely little pub as a reward after 3hours walking (take clean clothes to change into though as they dont like muddy gear in the bar)
If you find yourself with a couple of hours free I'd thoroughly recommend it.
Good for you! Sounds like a lovely location to unwind and get a bit of birding in too! (personally I think I'd rather find a less 'posh' pub though! Lol!)

I'm not sure the Gerrards Cross area does 'Less Posh' lol
Sounds good from the wildlife point of view though.

Only the one pub to choose from and, to be fair, any pub with 2 firefighters in it is far from posh!!!!
