  • Hi Hazy,    we went on a full day outing at the Falconry centre at Kirby Wiske near Thirsk a while back and it was brilliant. We got to hold a lot of their other birds in the morning, then after lunch we did the hawk walk where we took a couple of Harris Hawks out into the country and flew them, it really was great to be so near and actually flying these lovely birds, a great day out and if you have the chance I would definitely say go for it.

  • Morning Yorkie,  thanks for your reply, sounds like you had a lot of fun so I will book this experience.   We actually have a Birds of Prey centre on our doorstep and have never been !   but first we will try this one first and go from there,  many thanks again :)  its most helpful to hear what folks that have been think of this special attraction.

  • Looks good value for money, Hazy. I know quite a few people have visited these Birds of Prey centres and always rave about what a good experience it was.

I'm thinking of going to the Hawk Conservancy near Andover when the weather improves.

  • Morning TJ,   well, I've gone and done it as it seems good value and we can go anytime between Feb - July which is good.    We have a Birds of Prey centre just outside of our small town so will also vist that should this live up to expectations :)   take a look at the website, you can change the location to suit so you may find good price tickets for Andover or another area to suit you.

  • For those in the South East I would recommend Eagle Heights, they also do Bird of Prey experiences as well as having plenty of other animals to see and their flying displays are great as they involve the audience.

  • Andover sounds wonderful Bob so hope TJ has a great time when he visits;  its a bit far for us unless we are staying locally down there but it will be on our to visit list at some date in the future.

@ Shane,   Eagle Heights also sounds a great place and I love flying displays to see how the bird looks in flight :)  another for my visit list, thanks all for the recommendations.
