Known to Norfolk birders and anyone who regularly visits here as the premier east coast Hawfinch site.
Crossbills are regular but can be erratic and Firecrest is a regular bonus bird.
November to March is normally the best time, this autumn has been very good possibly due to the current condition of the larches and the particular weather we have had- and now there is an added bonus.
The house to the LH side of the entrance ( inside the big gates by the old Victorian garden wall) has been re-built by a birder- friendly couple ( Mal & Chris ? ) and feeders are now much in evidence. Tits, finches inc. Siskin and Brambling, Nuthatch and Treecreeper are being drawn to the immediate vicinity . Chalet type accommodation is also planned and visiting birders/ groups are obviously going to be welcome.
Watch out for more info next spring .

I can vouch for that. On my recent trip to Norfolk we spent a couple of hours or so there. We had reasonable views of a small flock of Hawfinches although they were very mobile. Good views of Common Crossbills but sadly missed out on the Two-barred Crossbill which had been seen earlier that morning. The trees are beautiful too.
