It's a terrible photo, too far away and the sun was setting, so not enough light.... BUT, I saw a GREY partridge last night! I had seen one on my summer bike rides last year and thought I'd check the place out again in case and there it was! (Probably not the same one though...)
In Shropshire we have many, many red legged partridges which are very pretty but it's a thrill to see a grey which was once known as the 'common' partridge but sadly is anything but common now!! Hope to return when it is lighter to try for better pics! :-)

That's great news MarJus - well spotted and a great photo.
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
Well spotted MarJus and it's a good photo considering the conditions you describe. We get red legged ones here but I have never seen a grey. Maybe I just haven't noticed though. I'll look out for them from now on.
There is something new to learn everyday...

What a fantastic coup for you, MarJus. We also see plenty of red legged partridge. Thanks and well done.
Well spotted MarJus, hope you find him again.
Cheers, Linda.

He's lovely, I've never seen one of those before, well done.

Lovely picture MarJus
He has a lovely red blush to his cheek area
So you have honoured to see both species of the Partridge Family now
I have seen the Grey one a few times before (only females so far), but not the red marked male one that you have in your picture
I have never seen a Red Legged Partridge close up yet as you have

Great catch Marjus. Never ever seen one before

Nice spot! I'm not sure I've ever seen any sort of partridge!
A closed mouth gathers no foot.
Thanks everyone! Shall keep a close eye and try to get closer as well!
