I'm holidaying on Mull next month and I'm intending to go on a birding/wildlife tour. I see there are a number of individuals who run tours - has anyone got any recommendations or advice about which one to try.
Thanks,
Jeff.
Hi Jeff we were there in June, can thoroughly recommend Wild about Mull Tours with Brian Rain. Runs from Penegael Stores. We saw Otters, Golden Eagle, White Tailed Eagle Whinchat, Snipe, Adder, Buzzard and red throat divers to name but a few www.wildaboutmull.co.uk
Can also thoroughly recommend Mull Charters which , they have permission to throw 3 fish out and you see the WTSE really close up. Booking just up from the Spar store in Salen.
Also the RSPB hide which is £8 and well worth a visit
Hope you have a wonderful time, we certainly did.

Have a look at Bryan Rains blog of his tours at "begbits blogspot"
Bryan rains comes very highly recommended by me too! Had a cracking day with him!
Also worth going on a boat trip with Turus Mara from Ulvaferry out to Staffa and the Treshnish Isles. Won't be so many sea birds there at that time of year (it's brilliant for puffins in May/June) but still worth visiting I think!

Just keep stopping and looking, the whole of Mull is to be savored, not just the few spots.
To each their own
Thanks to all for your advice. Really looking forward to my visit.
One thing I would add is, book your day with your chosen tour leader early on; then you can use the rest of your holiday revisiting any of the locations if you so wish! Nothing like local knowledge to let you know about all the best places; but as Nighthawk says, everywhere is fantastic on Mull!! It's a really magical island with superb wildlife and scenery! Iona is worth a visit as well!
To ensure of availability on your chosen tour, book well in advance of your holiday.
Enjoy your visit.
