Hi there

We are going for a day trip to Cornwall on the 3rd April 2010.

We are going via Great Railway Adventures.

Any places worth a look into ie Reserves, Parks etc...

It is an early start so we will pack as much into the day that we can.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Regards
Kathy and Dave

  • Oooh lovely! I live in Cornwall!

Well I don't know where abouts you are going in particular, so I will just tell you where I have enjoyed some good wildlife watching. The Camel Trail from Wadebridge heading towards Padstow is always a great place to go - it's situated along the river Camel, and takes you along the estuary - lots and lots of waders and other water birds to be seen there!

If you are heading to the very far south of the county, there are always reports of rare migrants turning up on the coast, such as Hayle, Penzance, and Marazion.

You may also consider: Marazion Marsh and Hayle Estuary, both of which have RSPB Reserves; Porthgwarra and many of the valleys on the Land's End peninsula; Stithians Reservoir; the creeks of the Truro and Fal Rivers; the Camel Estuary with the Walmsley Sanctuary near Chapel Amble, Wadebridge; Goss Moor; and Dozmary Pool. (I copied this from http://www.intocornwall.com/features/birdwatching.asp )

Enjoy your visit to my beautiful county :D
