The Little Egret, Treecreeper, and the Jackdaw are all fabulous photographs together.

Love them, and I would say the same thing again and again if the pictures did not show.

I've read the text on the other thread, but no matter how many times I flash back and forth between the text and the pics, I can't quite work out what's what.

Please could you be kind to a bird ignoramus and fill in the blanks (in order of picture):

1. Seagulls (of some type, I think you said black headed?)

2. No idea - is it another kind of seagull?

3. Lesser spotted Salisbury Cathedral bird

4. Heron? Stork?

5. Treecreeper? ( I am using my powers of intuition, given that it's creeping on a tree!!)

6. That must be your wren (although I thought it was a dunnock)

7. Jackdaw I know, but only because I asked yesterday on someone else's thread!

Number 5 is my favourite, what a beautiful bird.  Treecreepers are quite difficult to see, is that right?

Sorry to be so thick.  I am new to the whole birding game, and I only know the ones that visit my garden, which none of these do  - unless Salisbury Cathedral is lurking somewhere in the undergrowth and I just haven't noticed it.  Well actually I do get seagulls, but I don't think they're the same type.

Thanks for reposting your photos. At last I can see them. I can see why you were proud of your tree creeper photo (no blushing necessary). They are lovely little birds but so hard to photograph - I've never managed it. I also really like your picture of the little egret poised to catch his lunch.

Hi Brenda, I watched it for a long time and it had time to run up and down and round and round the tree many times.  I took dozens of pics and deleted most of them.  Actually I think I kept only three in the end!
