The RSPB has set up a site at Queens Park, Heywood, Lancashire, and is inviting the public to view the heronry. There are upwards of 14 nesting pairs high up in the trees. The RSPB has been there this weekend, and will be returning on March 13th when hopefully the eggs will be hatching. There are telescopes and a marquee with a big screen. And what is more, it's free!

Hi Sparrow
Thank you for letting us know {big smile}
Never seen a Heronry before - interesting!
Wonder how far it is from where we stay - will ask Dave?
Regards
Kathy and Dave
A heck of a long way Kathy!!!! Near Bury, Greater Manchester.
hi Sparrow
Thank you for your info.
If only it was closer, Sparrow - mind you we have been around the country a bit in the last year or so.
If we go on a longer trip we stay and B&B's overnight ie Leighton Moss and Norfolk.
Gives Dave a rest from all the driving that he does
We will add it onto our lists of to do's for the future {thumbs up}
You have just reminded me Sparrow that my sister and her family were going there last Sunday. I must ring her and get some details on what they saw.
