I've seen Red Kites in Oxfordshire but spotted one hovering about thirty feet above me at 4pm 30/4/13 just outside village of Great Cressingham, Norfolk. Definitely Kite and not Marsh Harrier or Buzzard. Any other sightings in East Anglia?
I spotted one sitting on a hedge about a mile from the village of Diddlington & Foulden, definitely had a V shaped tail, most certainly a Red Kite.
There are a few pairs of Red Kites now breeding in Norfolk, probably having spread from the Northamptonshire reintroduction site, and at this time of year migrants on their way back to northern European breeding grounds may overfly the UK. There was also a Black Kite reported in Norfolk on Monday...!
