Rain is annoying but most of us wear some sort of breathable TEX type coat now and with overtrousers it's possible to stay dry.
Some of my best sea-watches off Titchwell were done in the rain. I zip my bins inside my coat and just sit in the dunes or on an old crate hunched over my scope and wait for the birds. North East winds are best. On 270907 In an hour and a half I had 20 Bonxies, 3 Arctic Skuas, 1 Long tailed skua, 300 gannets, 3 manx shearwater, 3 Sabines Gulls 10 red throated divers and some razorbills.
