A friend came up to do some birding this weekend so I took him around my patch of North west Norfolk.
With a minimum of driving and visiting a half dozen sites on a roughly circular route we started at Hunstanton, moved east along the coast via Titchwell then swung back inland and ended at Snettisham.
Our highlights were Barn Owl- at least 6, a single Little owl, over 1,000 scoter including a dozen Velvets, Red breasted Merganser, Red throated diver, Scaup, Fulmar, Ruff, Knot, Spotted Redshank. 3 Peregrines, 2 buzzards, 8 marsh harriers ( no sparrowhawk anywhere though) . Several flocks of Snow Buntings totalling over 50 birds , 30 Twite and 2 Shore larks. Despite snow and some sites being frozen over our total was about 90 species.
He's probably coming back in April for more :)

Hi Raptor roost-
Titchwell at dusk has Hen Harriers coming in - viewing west from the main FP towards Thornham and the reed beds near the big white house.

Out for a couple of hours in the bottom SW corner of my stomping ground. Birding from the car mainly.
Pentney GP-
Mostly quiet- Tufted , Pochard, Wigeon, Gadwall, Teal, GCG, Pied Wag, Jay and Mistle Thrush
Denver Sluice- Pub CP and east sluice
Goosander, Fieldfare, Redwing, Grey Heron, Mute Swan, GCG, Little Grebe.
River south to Modney Bridge.
GCG, Corn Bunting, Yellowhammer, Reed Bunting, Golden Plover, Lapwing.

the area around King's Lynn is good atm-
Great Grey Shrike at Roydon Common also Grey Partridge, Stonechat.
Abbey Farm at Flitcham has Yellowhammer, Tree Sparrow, Reed Bunting and Brambling in the barn yards and hedges along the lane between the last houses at the west end and toward the water pump house at the east.
Marsh Tits at Sandringham feeder.
Snettisham has Black necked Grebe.
Denver Sluice has Goosander as usual.

Well it was a calamity last year but that was mainly after the event.
Spring finally arrives on the local patch-
Snettisham Coastal park North end at 0630- loads of Lesser Whitethroats singing and a couple of ( Greenland) Wheatears feeding near a Ring Ouzel. Swallows and Yellow Wagtails passing over and a single Sand Martin. Good numbers of Linnets and Mipits and the usual local Grey Partridges and Oystercatchers.
Further south a Grasshopper warbler singing and showing in a hawthorn bush and plenty of Sedge warblers, Chiffchaffs, a lone Blackcap and Willow warbler , A cuckoo called somewhere and 4 Mediterranean Gulls flew south over the pools.
A Little Bunting was still present for the 3rd (?) day in the sea buckthorn.
Off Holme NOA Little Terns were passing and a Gannet fished.
Titchwell ( still with high water levels) had LRP and Common Terns
The year list finally broke 150
Looks like it really is spring down there, no Swifts yet? In Lothian we've still yet to really have all the Grasshopper Warblers, Sedge Warblers, Whitethroats and Lesser Whitethroats to appear. Hirundines are plentiful but I haven't seen any House Martins yet. Wheatears passing through and I got my first Ring Ouzel last week :)
went north to Frampton at 0600 today- Spring is arriving;
Common Sandpiper on arrival at the reservoir with Greenshank and Whimbrels, singing Corn Buntings and Willow Warblers. The wet grasslands had Ruff, Godwits, Wood Sandpipers and LRPs. Finally saw some Swifts an hour before my first House Martin! The main reserve was full up with the usual suspects.
