Hi Everyone. We are going to make our first visit to Mull in May if anyone has any useful tips on good places to visit for the wildlife. We are stopping at Fionnphort for a few days then moving up to Calgary area for the rest of the week. Any information will be most grateful.

Superb! Love Mull! I would definitely recommend a trip out to Staffa and Lunga with Turus Mara from Ulva Ferry! It's stunning scenery and on Lunga, you get some fantastic views of birds, and can have close encounters with Puffins without needing to get too close if you know what I mean!!
I'd also recommend going out with a tour leader for a day. Quite a few on Mull... I went with Bryan Rains - Wild About Mull - and had a cracking day. Did this at the beginning of my week there as you then get to know where the best places are to explore and can return at your leisure later. Saw nearly 70 species of bird, and several mammal species too!
Can see a few of my pics here
PS not sure how you're going, but I decided to drive to Lochaline to cross to Fishnish; it's cheaper, no need to book (roll on roll off) and the drive down the Ardnamurchan Peninsula is superb too!

Useful info for me too Marjus, we are going for the first time in June.
A friend who goes every year gave a useful telephone number for if you see any injured otters
07768990618. Apparently they do get injured sometimes by drivers

Oh that's good Judi! You'll LOVE it there!
Thanks for that Marjus, Stuart from the peregrine watch at Malham recommended Brian Rains.
Hi lighthouse,
I'm sure you will love Mull. The landscapes and wildlife are unforgettable. If you decide to take a guided tour be sure to book as early as you can. Mull is very busy at most times of the year.
Cheers, Claire
