Amazingly, I got my first sighting of a Brambling in my garden this evening.I thought they would have left for Scandanavia by now. When do the set off back?
There are 9000 species of bird on earth. Let's keep it that way.
What have I done, I wish I knew!! hope it happens next cooooooooold spell!!!!!!
They seem to love it all. From over spill from the feeders. niger seed, lard + seed filled coconut shells, sunflower hearts, seed mix, peanuts, just what most of us really put out most of the time.
They are very keen ground feeders but v comfy on the feeders as well. Still here but for how long?

Excuse wobbily dyslexic spelling!
My last straggler appears to have left, not seen him this week!

We are in Hampshire and have not seen Male Bramblings for a week or more but saw 2 females yesterday, similarly Female Blackaps and today 3 Female Siskins.
My male one is still appearing every day to eat peanuts from my mesh feeder, and Mrs Brambling accompanied him today. :-)
Best wishes Chris
