I've just seen the first Redpoll at my feeder! Is it a common or lesser Redpoll? I think it is the common redpoll. the flickr link will have higher res photos. Many thanks

Not the easiest of birds to distinguish between Lesser and Common. I would tend to agree with Jim that it's more likely to be a Lesser Redpoll, (far more common that the Common Redpoll in the UK and Ireland).

He has finally returned to the feeder yesterday, again during very bad weather. He has a lovely brown tint to his feathers in good light. smaller than a gold finch too. Thanks for the input of all!
