Hi, just joined this forum and have already found loads of advice and answers to problems I have had.
I am wondering if many people use the trays for ground feeding birds and whether they are worth getting, I have a mesh tray on a feeding station pole and it seems to get clogged up and water-logged. Would the same happen with the trays? Does anyone have any ideas for making one? Great to hear your views.

I also have a black mesh tray from Gardman that I put in a secluded spot on the garden for robins, dunnocks and the wren.
My large ground feeder that I put on the lawn is a Woodlook version from Street End feeds (Really Wild)

Thanks for all your replies. i shall improvise for a while and see if a tray is successful. I will have to make it labrador and chicken proof though!! i have some ideas and wil try and get on with it this weekend.
