Dominant blackbirds

I seem to have a dominant blackbird couple nesting in a large laurel hedge. Although this is great, is there any point encouraging other birds into the garden? The blackbirds seem to scare off other birds. Does this only happen when they are feeding their young at this time of year? The blackbirds feed from the ground, but no one visits my hanging feeder.

  • The birds will get used to them and they won't be so aggresive once the eggs have hatched and fledged.
They won't bother the birds on the feeder, seem to spend most time chasing other blackbirds in my experience

Of all creatures, man is the most detestable, he is the only creature that inflicts pain for sport, knowing it to be pain.
