The pair showed up on 13th March & were checking out the nest - here's hoping..............
Have posted all I've taken today, unedited, as I'm so excited!!! They both flew off & now Mr Kestrel has returned to nest & sitting, waiting like a spider in the middle of a web! Just going to video him

Thanks all for your continued interest in this 'saga - will see Baby G again tomorrow when I drop off the next batch of frozen chicks - heard today that no need to open feeding hatch as he is running to the bars to grab the food - needs no encouragement to eat!! Hope he starts tearing up his food soon! I am now anxious to witness some wing flapping - it's going to rain hard here tomorrow so might try to set up video record in greenhouse! - this will be less intrusive!!
Wendy this continues to be a fascinating story and the video clips are wonderful - what happened to the 'Good Egg' awards because this is certainly worthy of one?
Kind of you J_I_UK but there are others more deserving - I have my reward by being able to be so closely involved with these magnificent birds! Lucky, lucky me!!
I've only just caught up with this thread after being away. What a drama, I'm exhausted with emotion after reading about all the dramatic events. It's always a dilemma about whether to intervene but it sounds as though you did exactly the right thing. Great to hear that baby George is thriving.
You could be right about Mr K having something stuck in his beak/mouth. I noticed in one of the vids that he was clawing at it.
Great stuff Wendy. Keep us posted. You get my vote for a GE.

Good Egg Wendy :-) You'd be well deserving of it
Oh Wendy, just wonderful :-)
Fantastic photos!
Have been following this wonderful thread. As someone said it is like following a soap on TV [even better than]! The chick is really georgeous and growing up fast. I do hope that Mr K returns and all is well with him. You have done a fantastic thing Wendy by giving us this truly lovely story. Well done.
