We often see great pictures of the stars of the bird world but the ordinary birds never get a look in.
I would like to start a picture thread of those birds that we share our everyday lifes with like the Sparrows and Pigeons etc...
Lets all take our cameras out and give them a chance to shine.
Lovely,luv em too.
Have hedged bridleway nearby.Early evening,I`ll sometimes sit to experience audio equivalent of chasing lights.
Happy little birds, always chirping and chirruping even in the rain.
Cheers, Linda.

Oh they show alright, TJ and they are lovely. I wouldn't describe collared doves as beige - they are pink with blue tinges. LOL.

I don't do pink.LOL I love their their jewel-like eyes. Look a bit like mine after a night out. You're the expert on sexing Goldies, Sparrow. Do you reckon that's a male?
Looks like a male to me, TJ. The red extends beyond the eye.
Did you know about the different colours in the nasal hair?
Nasal hairs are black on an adult male, in 1st year males these can be grey. In adult females the Nasal hairs are sometimes light grey, but more generally blackish-grey. In 1st year females they are generally light grey, never blackish. If you can sex them by nasal hair, you deserve a medal!! LOL
Blimey, Buzzard taught you well if you remembered all that. I think I'll ask an ear nose and throat specialist to help me on that . LOL
LOL. I didn't remember it ..... I have it written down!

Me too. Not so sure he'd be so keen on the "old". He's probably younger than both of us.
Only a juvie Starling but look, it's starting to get adult plumage.
