It's well overdue for starting. This is the link to last years thread
Butterflies and Moths 2023
There haven't been a lot of butterflies around here this year so far. The earliest was a fresh Red Admiral on the 3rd of january
Since then I've seen a Speckled Wood & Peacock. There have been Brimstone's about but I haven't seen them. Plenty of time left in the year to go chasing butterflies.
Best wishes

A went last year aswell but went with the kids , just went on our own today, it's same time for me driving and that's including the ferry
(Pardon the Scottish Accent)
That's what a was thinking as a scrolled through my Collins wildlife guide
Google Lens said Grayling too, but I've never seen one with open wings!
Never seen one....
Nice vid, Wendy. Still waiting for the HHM here.... In fact, still waiting for anything to land on the buddleia!
May aswell add the rest as there wasn't many to see
Not helpful..I know but they were camera shy
I think Cin told me they turn into the sun so offer no shadow as clue to where they are!
It does say they sit with wings folded and angled to cast the least shadow
Well that's got you on the scoreboard Linda
Woohoo
