I looked for this year's thread which doesn't seem to have been started yet as it will be a few weeks before we see some of the young birds ......
so will start of 2024 with one of the first young to appear - a rather cute wild "funny wabbit" which was one of two kits seen. Only record pic taken through window.

That photo is excellently timed! Wonderful to see, thanks for sharing Billysdad.
Nice find Linda, we do get the little ones in our garden. Not sure where they live, it's a long way to any water or damp ground.
Nice timing Linda
On this day, the Rook brought the youngster, this has now happened for the last two years so I'm assuming it's the same adult but, it's fabulous to get so close to a young bird like this.
I usually get quite a while to get these shots, depending on the light shining in the window so I move v e r y slowly, trying not to scare them off.
I love the look in the eyes, so intelligent.
Hungry bird?
And that's that! A couple of days visiting then gone out into the wilds.
But, what about the adult?
Never seen again, other than passing overhead into the fields maybe.
Excellent shots Scozmos. I particularly like the first one with the light showing on the inside of it's mouth. Well captured ...
I saw this young Jay down my local woods just sat on a branch watching the world go by and having an occasional shut eye. Unfortunately I had the macro lens on, (like you do!), I watched for about 5 mins, and took a few shots, then took Billy on his walk. On the way back it was still there, so I thought I would go home and get my long lens. On return it was still there, but I only got one shot before it flew off, typical ...
What's he doing down there?
Boring. Time for a kip
Oh no he's back!
Nice shots, nice to get such clear steady views, quick glimpses here only
Aww well done BD
Nice photo's Scozmos, I can imagine the noise...
