I looked for this year's thread which doesn't seem to have been started yet as it will be a few weeks before we see some of the young birds ......
so will start of 2024 with one of the first young to appear - a rather cute wild "funny wabbit" which was one of two kits seen. Only record pic taken through window.
(Last year's thread HERE )

I bet they were hungry!
Nice to see so many Tony.
So true, I was filling the fatball feeder and ground trays 2 or 3 times day .
It was the same on the hanging fat ball feeder, climbing over each other. There were uptown 30 starlings a time at the peak of the chaos.
I bet you could hear them ...
A quick sneak peak, a quick photo of the camera screen, the first of the blackbird chicks has finally fledged.

Another thread I've just found. I've been collecting up photos of the youngsters coming to our feeders, they're all sitting in a folder waiting to be shared so......
Mind if I start here and keep adding?
May 29th, the first young birds I saw, Starlings on our furniture, a prelude to the plague as they all fledged
They carried on pouring in throughout the first couple of weeks in June.
What do I do with this mum?
I think Starlings are hilarious while they're learning but also very clever.
Move over!
And then they were gone! Out there they should be I suppose.
Looking forward to seeing more of your youngsters, we all love the baby pics!

Along came the Sparrows
June 3rd 2024 and the Starlings are still flocking in to devour anything and everything but, early one morning (as the song goes)
The first House Sparrows appeared on the fence, waiting for mum and dad to fill them up.
We're very lucky to have both types of Sparrow living in the hedge alongside the house so later the same morning ..
The first Tree Sparrow young appeared in the tree.
Neither of them hang around for long, feed the kids up quickly then off out into the fields but more appear now and again, all good.
Last year a Rook brought a youngster to the garden. for a few days so I was hoping .....
Wasn't sure which one of these to post, the original or the crop. So I thought sod it. live life to the full .. post them both ... . Bit of a grab shot, but hopefully the content makes up for the quality ...
