Hope you don't mind me kicking off this year's thread but these 2 were on the patio doors yesterday

I just love these little beasties.
Red Admiral on a thistle in Worcester. I don’t have a macro lens, which is a shame, as this would have looked a bit sharper Lovely to watch
I am not going to even attempt to identify these insects correctly. Humming and buzzing things on banks of Colebrook lake (south).
Different bumblebee, different thistle.
Off it flew.
I'm kind of reminded of a scene as a freighter approaches the Death Star, and Hans Solo says: 'Keep your distance though, Chewie…but don’t look like your tryin’ to keep your distance. I don’t know…fly casual.'
