After yet another successful year on the Odds & Sods thread, initially started I think by Hazy, it might be wise to kickstart the 2023 thread off.
Thank you to those who have contributed to last years thread, and there has been very interesting odds and sods in "Odds & Sods 2022" that aren't enough to place into a dedicated thread, which you can look back on the following link:

What better for me, and as yet, I've not ventured far, ewe know what I mean, with this lassie on Baddesley Clinton estate yesterday....

Just a few from during the week
A cute ickle Squirrel
A Fox Moth caterpillar that I found in my garden. I was going to keep it and watch it hatch, but all afternoon it was continually climbing up the side of the clear plastic box I had put it in, like it was trying to get out, so I let it go. What a waste of rocket, I could have had that for my tea ...
Huge scary spider ...
New feeder. I bought this last week, filled it with a nice assortment of quality bird seed, suet and berry bits, and dried mealworms and hung it in a safe place.I put it up on Tuesday and in five days have had NO visitors at all! Not a single one! What a bummer! ...
A screen grab from a frame of some trailcam footage of the pond beach. Mum and youngster. Glad to see them back again. :-)
The quality is not the best.
(Pardon the Scottish Accent)
Found your missing birds BD ;-)...once I get the link working grrr!!!

Copy the text and hopefully will get you there ;-)
Hmmm. That's where they've all gone ...
Heard what I thought was our local Tawny owl, screeching away. As it was still light-ish, gabbed camera and went into garden in forlorn hope of seeing it.
Didn't see owl, but spotted this little fella gamefully bashing away at oak branch.
It is possible that it had jammed a peanut or acorn into a crack in the branch
Phwar, what a pong!
I think that at this point whatever the Nuthatch was bashing popped out and fell to the ground.
It flew down at this point, before climbing about in other parts of the tree.
90% luck, 5% field craft, 5% camera skills.
Lovely pics Angus. I love to see Nutties, such an entertaining little bird. It certainly tried hard there to get a bit of food ... . Is that with the R7?
